Lion Fight Promotions, the worldwide leader in Muay Thai combat, returns to Foxwoods Resort Casino on Friday, September 29th with a roster of international stars and new talent.
Destructive knockout artist and reigning Lion Fight super middleweight champion Regian “The Immortal” Eersel (46-4) will put his belt on the line against the last man to beat him – Czech star Matous Kahout (39-9).
Eersel has blasted through his opposition inside the Lion Fight ring, including a fourth-round head-kick knockout of two-division champion Jo Nattawut, a second-round demolition of Jake Purdy to claim the title, and then a vicious first-round finish of D.C. Pratt in his first title defense. The Amsterdam, Holland, product, who has posted nine consecutive knockout victories, will be out to avenge his last defeat when Kahout notched a unanimous decision verdict over Eersel in March of last year in Prague, Czech Republic.
“We are immensely excited to have Regian Eersel returning in an outstanding main event against the only man in over two years to beat him Matous Kohout, our first-ever fighter to come from Eastern Europe. I have no doubt this will be the best super middleweight title fight in our history and a fight that fans around the world will be watching.”
—Scott Kent, Lion Fight President & CEO
A top contender in the light heavyweight division will come out of the clash between Seattle’s Juan Jackson (9-1) and New York City’s Elijah Clarke (6-1) – both newcomers to the Lion Fight roster.
Lion Fight has quickly established a strong cruiserweight division, now headed by newly crowned champion Chip Moraza-Pollard. His next challenger may come out of a matchup that will see long-time contender Brett Hlavacek (18-6), who fights out of New York City, take on promotional newcomer Timothy Woods (8-1) of Fairfax, Virginia.
Lion Fight is ushering in a new women’s division as well. The light flyweight ranks will open up with Italy’s Silvia La Notte (61-13-4) taking on England’s Dani Fall (12-1).
Lion Fight 38 will also mark the return of two of the organization’s hottest prospects. Lightweight Jafar “The Cookie” Monster” Toshev and heavyweight Steve “Put ’Em To Sleep” Walker, who both scored highlight-reel knockouts in their respective debuts, will be part of action. Also slated to be part of the action will be fan favorite Brian “Magoo” Bogue, who will make his long-awaited professional debut.
Lion Fight 38 will air live on AXS TV Fights in the United States as well as on Fight Network throughout Canada, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
