Lion Fight Promotions, the worldwide leader in Muay Thai combat, returns to Foxwoods Resort Casino on Friday, September 29th with a roster of international stars and new talent.

Destructive knockout artist and reigning Lion Fight super middleweight champion Regian “The Immortal” Eersel (46-4) will put his belt on the line against the last man to beat him – Czech star Matous Kahout (39-9).

Eersel has blasted through his opposition inside the Lion Fight ring, including a fourth-round head-kick knockout of two-division champion Jo Nattawut, a second-round demolition of Jake Purdy to claim the title, and then a vicious first-round finish of D.C. Pratt in his first title defense. The Amsterdam, Holland, product, who has posted nine consecutive knockout victories, will be out to avenge his last defeat when Kahout notched a unanimous decision verdict over Eersel in March of last year in Prague, Czech Republic.

“We are immensely excited to have Regian Eersel returning in an outstanding main event against the only man in over two years to beat him Matous Kohout, our first-ever fighter to come from Eastern Europe. I have no doubt this will be the best super middleweight title fight in our history and a fight that fans around the world will be watching.”

—Scott Kent, Lion Fight President & CEO

A top contender in the light heavyweight division will come out of the clash between Seattle’s Juan Jackson (9-1) and New York City’s Elijah Clarke (6-1) – both newcomers to the Lion Fight roster.

Lion Fight has quickly established a strong cruiserweight division, now headed by newly crowned champion Chip Moraza-Pollard. His next challenger may come out of a matchup that will see long-time contender Brett Hlavacek (18-6), who fights out of New York City, take on promotional newcomer Timothy Woods (8-1) of Fairfax, Virginia.

Lion Fight is ushering in a new women’s division as well. The light flyweight ranks will open up with Italy’s Silvia La Notte (61-13-4) taking on England’s Dani Fall (12-1).

Lion Fight 38 will also mark the return of two of the organization’s hottest prospects. Lightweight Jafar “The Cookie” Monster” Toshev and heavyweight Steve “Put ’Em To Sleep” Walker, who both scored highlight-reel knockouts in their respective debuts, will be part of action. Also slated to be part of the action will be fan favorite Brian “Magoo” Bogue, who will make his long-awaited professional debut.

Lion Fight 38 will air live on AXS TV Fights in the United States as well as on Fight Network throughout Canada, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Las Vegas – For the second time in series history, the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter® will introduce a new weight class and crown a new champion. At the helm, will be two of the sports’ best and most exhilarating athletes when No. 3 lightweight Eddie Alvarez and No. 6 Justin Gaethje assume the coaching responsibilities forThe Ultimate Fighter®: A New World Champion.

Alvarez and Gaethje will lead 16 flyweight women throughout the season and lead them to a shot at UFC® gold, with the winner of season 26 becoming the inaugural women’s 125-pound champion. Season 20 saw Carla Esparza emerge victorious earning the strawweight world title via third-round submission over Rose Namajunas. The Ultimate Fighter remains the highest rated and most watched original show on FS1 and will premiere Wednesday, August 30 at 10 p.m. ET.

Former UFC champion Alvarez (28-5, 1 NC, fighting out of Philadelphia, Penn.) has held a title in nearly every promotion he’s ever competed in and will utilize that world-class pedigree to groom a champion in the UFC’s 12th weight class. After making an impression in his promotional debut during International Fight Week™ with a second-round knockout of No. 5 Michael Johnson, Gaethje (18-0, fighting out of Arvada, Colo.) will set his sights on coaching the next world champion in route to taking another step toward becoming a champion himself. With 15 knockouts and one submission to his credit, Gaethje has become must-watch television every time he competes and will no doubt try to pass his highlight reel moves on to the ladies he’s coaching.
