Khabib Nurmagomedov Wants $100 Million to Rematch Conor McGregor

Will Khabib Nurmagomdov face Conor McGregor in a rematch? UFC President Dana White promised the fan-friendly bout if McGregor overcame Donald Cerrone at UFC 246—a feat he accomplished in just 40 seconds. “The Eagle” faces Tony Ferguson (at last!) at UFC 249, but what comes next?

According to Khabib’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the undefeated champ wants $100 million to face McGregor again, and says the UFC doesn’t have a choice but to pay it.

“Give us $100 million. The day after the fight against Ferguson, give us that amount and then why not get revenge? I don’t know, maybe Dana White wants to arrange it, he needs that fight.”

Assuming Khabib defeats Ferguson, a rematch against McGregor would be his 30th bout, a milestone that has loomed large for the unstoppable fighter for the past. “For Khabib, 30-0 is enough,” Abdulmanap told the media last year. “Regarding his last fight, then of course, we would like his final title defence to be in Moscow.”

For a man with an eye on his legacy, the McGregor rematch could be the perfect finale to his career. However the Irishman isn’t without options. Having steamrolled Cerrone at 170 pounds, a bid for the welterweight belt and becoming the UFC’s first three-division champion is also on the table.
