Cain Velasquez, the former two-time UFC heavyweight champion, has officially retired from MMA, it was announced today. The 37-year-old has reportedly signed a multiyear contract with WWE.
Velasquez made his wrestling debut at Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide earlier this year, to rave reviews from fans. He featured on WWE Smackdown last Friday, facing off against former UFC nemesis turned WWE champ Brock Lesnar.
He will face Lesnar again at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Oct. 31.
