Conor McGregor has been charged with assaulting a man at a Dublin bar in April. CCTV video of the incident surfaced earlier this year, and appeared to show McGregor drinking at the bar before hitting one of the other patrons, allegedly after he refused a glass of McGregor’s Proper No. Twelve whiskey.
“I was in the wrong,” McGregor told Ariel Helwani in August. “That man deserved to enjoy his time in the pub without having it end the way it did… I tried to make amends and I made amends back then. But it doesn’t matter. I was in the wrong.”
McGregor will appear at Dublin District Court on Oct. 11 to answer charges under Section Two of the Non-Fatal Offenses Against the Person Act. He faces six months in prison, a €1,500 fine, or both if found guilty.
