It was an incredible night of fights at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last night as UFC 245 delivered a storming card that ended with a real barn-burner. In the main event, Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington defied expectation and kept the fight standing. It was a bad move for Covington, who suffered a broken jaw in the bout before Usman sealed the deal in the fifth round to take a TKO victory in his first title defence.
Elsewhere on the card, Max Holloway lost his featherweight crown to Alexander Volkanovski. The fight went to the judges, who handed the Aussie his eighteenth straight win. It was Holloway’s first loss in the division since 2013.
Germaine de Randamie also pushed reigning champ-champ Amanda Nunes to a decision for the women’s bantamweight belt. The judged gave Nunes the W, but there were moments in the fight she appeared to be in trouble. Has GDR shown another competitor how to beat the GOAT?
